Elementary News

  • summerWe hope that you have been enjoying a relaxing summer, making memories and doing things that you love! We are eagerly anticipating the return of our students in September. The building is not the same without your excitement and enthusiasm. The elementary office has been working tirelessly to ensdure that this is the best year yet for our students, families, and faculty. The custodial staff is doing an amazing job getting the building and grounds ready for the first week of September and our teachers have already begun preparations for the fall!

Our summer learning academy was so much fun! Students engaged in learning activities to help strengthen reading, writing, and math skills. We were able to visit Oxbow Falls county park and we were entertained by illlusionist Leon Entienne. We were able to round out the academy this year with an outdoor picnic for students and their families.

We are welcoming three new team members to the elementary school this year. Sophia Wright and Leah Haines will comprise our new music department. Sophia will be our instrumental music teacher and Leah will be our vocal instructor. Both teachers will be working with our elementary students and teachers. Sara Silverman will be joining us as a speech-language pathologist. All of our new team members bring a passion for learning and working with our students. Please join me in giving them a Stockbridge Valley welcome.

We also have some changes taking place at Stockbridge Valley. Samantha Stedman will be teaching fourth grade with Erica Laraby and Sara getman will move to fifth grade with Michele Wright.

We look forward to seeing familiar faces along with welcoming new ones on our first day of school, Tuesday, September 7th.
