Career and Technical Education (CTE)
At Stockbridge Valley Central School District, we offer a variety of Career and Technical Education (CTE) courses through the Madison Oneida BOCES. Students wishing to further their education in a hands on environment in a program of their choice often find that attending BOCES very rewarding. Students are offered several opportunities to visit BOCES. Each student is offered a visit during their 8th grade year (early November) and during their Sophomore year in high school. At this point during the spring of their Sophomore year, they can attend a separate 1/2 day visit where they can spend time in a specific course.
If students chose to attend BOCES, they are encouraged to pick a program and stick with it for 2 years (Junior and Senior year of high school). Juniors attend BOCES in the afternoon and Seniors attend in the morning. The SVCS Transportation Department transports our students to the programs (excluding the New Vision components-- Students are responsible for providing transportation-- Seniors ONLY).
