Stockbridge Valley Students Excel at the NYS FFA Convention
Nineteen Stockbridge Valley CSD students honed their skills at the Syracuse On Center during this years’ NYS FFA Convention on May 2-4.
More than 1,500 FFA members, advisors and honored guests from across the state gather for this annual event to hear inspiring presentations from peers and agricultural professionals, expand their knowledge during workshops and tours by exploring different fields in the agricultural industry, and networking with agricultural business professionals and colleges during the Career Engagement Expo.
Austin Nolley - 1st place Sr. Extemporaneous Speaking will be competing at Nationals in October.
Agricultural Communications Team placed 2nd
- Ethan Smith placed 3rd
- Michael Wagner placed 6th
- Adriene Bryon placed 7th
- Emma Copperwheat placed 8th
Parliamentary Procedure Team placed 2nd and will be competing at the Big E in September:

Madison Nolley - 3rd in Jr. People In Agriculture and received a SAE Grant
Tristen Ellerbruch - 8thindividual in Jr. Tool Identification
Jr. Quiz Bowl was 3rd with Amanda Brown, Myah LaFave, Abby Smith and Alexis Mazzye
Sam Smith received his Proficiency in Poultry
Michael Wagner received his Proficiency in Agricultural Processing and will be heading to Nationals for additional ranking.
Megan Lamb received her Proficiency in Specialty Crops and will be heading to Nationals for additional ranking.

Agriculture teachers and FFA advisors, Erin Smith and Patty Waldron who coordinate the program, were also at the convention. “Our students did exceptionally well and some of them will be competing on the national level,” said Smith.
